I set up a special little bulletin board filled with magazine clippings of things that inspire ideas for sculpture. This board has been within sight for over a month now. It simply sits as a scenic view as I sit on the computer or fold laundry. The need to create has been there and yet, up until a few days ago, I had not touched wire. Instead I created a bag from a few denim remnants, beads and embroidery thread. I have doodled. I have made collage. I began to sketch in a book, capturing the ordinary items that surround me and in the process, I have fine-tuned my eyes, opening my senses and remembering to slow down and actually look at the wonders that surround me daily.
It is so easy to get strangled by the complexities of life. Find a way to stop, breathe and create - even if for an hour, a half hour, twenty minutes.
Find time to renew.
We all have a creative, imaginative, inspired, artistic, inventive, ingenious, innovative spark within, just waiting, a flame needing to be fanned, desiring to burn with passion.
